My First Day In Ottawa

Early in the morning Gary dropped me off at the Grey Hound bus terminal in Toronto to travel to Ottawa last Friday. It took five hours to get there.
About 10 people were waiting for my arrival at the bus terminal in Ottawa to welcome me. I really appreciated that. (Brother) Saya Kung Lal and his two sisters drove me to Saya Pa Lian's apartment where I stayed during this short trip.

Saya Kung Lal (one of EC members) would have a new baby boy born today. Please remember him and his family in your prayer.

Saya Pa Lian ( one of EC members) and his wife Sian took care of me a lot. They treated me like a king which I do not totally deserve. May God bless this family.

Saya Pu Khen invited all the Fellowship members to celebrate a kind of thanksgiving at his house on Friday night. I was suppose to preach there. It is a birthday celebration. Nobody knew about it in advance because Pu Khun and his family didn't want to let others bring birthday gifts. They said they just wanted to give thanks together.

As we started our worship service, Saya Pu Khen explained why he wanted to celebrate thanks giving tonight and gave his prayer requests. He said "Tonight is the second time, that he had ever celebrated his birthday through out his life". When he first arrived in Canada, he had some diseases and was very sick,.The doctor said that He would die within two years. But now it is more than 4 or 6 years. Nothing has happened. He is even getting better and better. He also said that today was his 29th birthday. But his wife stood up and said "No! that's not true. Today is his 49th year of thanks giving." They didn't have enough money to celebrate this party in advance. But they invited people to come and join the party (thanksgiving) by faith. And the LORD provided their needs by the right time. He is also the leader of a Gospel team that likes to reach people across Canada.

Saya Caleb, the Chairman of the Falam Chin Fellowship gave a short speech to welcome me and encouraged the family and all the people who came for a few minutes.

I preached that "we must always give thanks to God as He is worthy to be praised for what He made in our lives from the smallest to the biggest things....."

Saya Palian  was the chairperson. Even though I forgot to talk about the scarves that I brought, he mentioned  them on my behalf. He is also the best advertiser that I ever know.

After the worship service we have Burmese food (Hmuk Hin Khaa) together that the family prepared for everyone of us. Generally, Chin Christian believers always do eat and drink after the worship service when we celebrate different kinds of thanksgiving  and parties.

About five young people were cooking in the kitchen while we were worshipping. I went to the kitchen just to throw away garbage and asked them what they were doing. One of them said to me "We are helping and supporting you from the kitchen part". That's true. They were really working hard.

Everybody who came were eager for the Word of God, I really experienced the presence of the Holy Spirit among us.

If I am not mistaken 35 or 36 people were coming to celebrate the birth day party. 3 or 4 more people also added to our numbers. Most of them were busy at work. But I understand that this is normal in Canada. I hope that everybody will spread what they learned from the Word of God to their own family members who could not come and could not join with us during these three days of fellowship in the LORD.

It was a really nice meeting and such a wonderful experience for my history.

Saturday meetings will come soon!

Thank you so much everybody,. May God bless you all.

William.

At A Theatre On Family Day 2011

In parts of Canada, Family Day is a statutory holiday occurring on the third Monday in February. In the provinces of Manitoba and Prince Edward Island, the statutory holiday on this date is instead termed Louis Riel Day and Islander Day, respectively. This corresponds with Presidents Day in the United States.
The third Monday in February is a regular working day in British Columbia, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and the territories. As Family Day is not currently recognized in the federal sphere, federal employees in all provinces (such as public servants and postal workers) still work on this day. In Newfoundland and Labrador, the third Monday of February is a school board holiday, but not an official provincial holiday. (Quoted from Wikipedia).

Steve's family brought me to the movie theater today. We had a really good time together. We watched the story of Gnomeo and Juliet. It's really interesting cartoon. It taught the power and faithfulness of love. It brought peace between the two enemies.

Love is the only way to make our world peaceful. The kingdom of God is also the kingdom of Love.

As a true believer of Jesus Christ, Love is the only power that we have. Satan's tools are hate and bitterness.

As a true Christian believer, we always have opportunity to forgive and love anyone every day. How many times do you forgive and show love those who offend, hurt or break your heart? Please remember! The more you forgive and love, the more freedom, joy and love will be in your life.

This will also be part of my preaching in Ottwa this weekend. Wendy said she already booked the ticket for me. Thanks to her too.

Thank you so much Steve, Debbie, Heather and Hayley for spending time with me today.

May God Bless you!

A Blessing Sunday

We had a  great Sunday worship service this morning again (20 Feb,2011). Sara led us with her songs, Steve taught about the Apostle Paul and his fellow disciples and co-workers in Christ. Gary preached and gave the LORD's supper.

I also had a privilege to sing my old song called "Embrace Me Warmly In Your Wings" and spoke a few minutes to encourage my brothers and sisters in Christ from 2 King 5 and 1 King 11.
After the service, Steve's family fed me lunch at Denny (the name of restaurant). This is the same place where we had our lunch with them last Sunday.

As I am going to visit my own people in Ottawa to preach there and have  fellowship with them, Steve and Debbie thought that I would need a camera for this trip.

We went to a WALL-MART shopping mall and bought a brand called "OLYMPUS". It really works well  with good quality. I really like it. These are the photos that we took the very first time with this new digital camera.

Actually, I have been praying for a camera to God at least very old one. But when God provided it through His children, it's far better than what I expected. Our God is a good and gracious God. Have you experienced the joy when God answered your prayer that is very hard for you to accomplish by yourself? If so, you will know how much  happyI am right now.

The invisible God made Himself visible to me. He is Able and faithful to those who love and fear Him.

When we arrived at home Heather taught me how to use it. She is a very good teacher.

After that I played a video game " Driving Car".I got  4th point among the eight. This is the best point I can ever got. I always got the last point when I played last time.
When It was time to go back home, Debbie drove the car and Haley changed the gear. It's unusual for 2 people to drive a car in Canada.I hope you remember that Debbie broke her right arm as I told you before. That's why she needed Haley's help to change the gear. Let's continue to remember her in our prayers for quick recovery of her right arm.

I am more than thankful for Steve and his family.

I praise God that from now I am ready to take pictures by myself.

May God bless you abundantly as you expect His love, care, help and blessings. Amen.

William.

My First Skating Day and Unforgetable Day!

I had a good time skating with Steve's family and Sara's family yesterday. Steve and Sara taught me a lot, but I could not learn as I should. I think it is harder than Skiing. It is also more dangerous to fall. It is really slippery. Steve, Debbie and Sara do not give up teaching me how to skate. They said we will try next time.

A big thanks to Debbie for working so hard with her right arm broken. She took pictures and a video of me for my history record.

I am also very thankful for Heather's friend for her friendship and kindness to me.

My thanks also goes to Sara's family for the hot chocolate on our way back home.

These are great and new experiences that I do not deserve to gain.

May our Heavenly  Father who knows all your generous help, love and kindness to me, bless you abundantly!

Again! Thank you so much everyone!

Embrace Me Warmly In Your Wing (My EIGHTH New Song)

Embrace Me Warmly In Your Wind

1. Your love is so deep, you gave your life for the wicked and the sinner like me.
I deserve nothing, but your Grace has found me, crown me with the
    eternal life.

Chorus : You are my reason, my strength and shield.
You are my hope where I put my trust.
(Embrace me warmly in your wing) 2
By the time of life's storm coming.

2. LORD I come to you, offering my broken heart, stand with me, holding my
hand. Guiding my feet to the path of life that I may bring glory to You.

A Day With Gary's Brother and Sisters

I praise God that I had the privilege to meet with Gary's brother and sisters on the 7th of Febuary, 2011. We had fellowship and lunch together.

They loved to hear about my country.

They were very friendly and kind. They bought 3 scarves that the women in Myanmar made to help church planting in Myanmar.

Two of Gary's sisters had given money to help the church planting ministry in Myanmar.  May the Blessings of God be upon these families for the Word of God has promised and it can never fail.

A big thanks to Gary's brother and sisters for their love and kindness to me.

Blessings,
William.

Skiing at Centennial Park with Short Video

Lee and Melissa Carter came to pick me up for skiing last Sunday (Feb 6th,2011).

Both of them taught me patiently. It is really hard to understand how to Ski when it became practically. Turning left and right was especially hard for me. But I really like it. I think I can stay there and spend  my time skiing forever.
This is my very first time to ski on the snow hill. It is a very great and new experience for me.

They also took a short video while I am learning. Lee and Melissa are laughing while they took this video of me skiing. I am also laughing when I saw myself on the video.

It will be a another good memory for me.

According to Lee and Melissa, to make a shape of the English alphabet "V" is most important for skiing.

It also helps to make me slow or stop.

Other people are also learning like me.

Children are  very good and brave. They can ski  faster and better than me.

However I am really glad that I had such a great experience.

I praise the name of the LORD for He let me see and experience many kinds of wonderful things even though I am not worthy.
I give my heart felt thanks to Lee and Melissa Carter for their love.

They asked Melissa's parents to take care of Aiden (their love one) while they taught me how to ski.

May God bless them and multiply more than 100 times for what they have spent on me.

Chinese New Year 2011

I had a wonderful time celebrating Chinese new year, 2011 yesterday( Feb 6th) with Can and all his family members.

We went to a Chinese restaurant. The restaurant is surrounded with Chinese stores. There were a lot of people lining up to get a table. I learned two Chinese phrases - "How are you today" and "Thank you". When I greeted Can's mom in Chinese, she was so surprised!

We ate many different kinds of Chinese food. Among them duck bake (or roosted) and meat fried with salad were the best tasting. They were also Ayan favorite foods.

I recalled what my father used to tell me about the origin of Chin people in Myanmar. Chin and Kachin people in Myanmar are real brothers. Their place of origin is said to be from China. They were descendants of the Chin Dynasty in Chinese hostory.

Big thanks to everyone in Can's family. I really enjoye and appreciated their new year.

Again! Happy New Year to all!

Important Life's Lessons From A Babylonian King

Daniel 2 : 1 “ In the second year of his reign, Nebuchadnezzar had dreams, his mind was troubled and he could not sleep.”

One night, Nebuchadnezzar had a dream. His dream was unique and terrible. But, he didn’t understand the meaning of it. He was full of anger, agony and anxiety. He could not even sleep. Probably could not eat either.

Can you imagine how frustrated and helpless he was, even though he was the richest, powerful person as the king of Babylon the strongest kingdom in the world in his time? His wealth and authorities was meaningless at this point of his life.

If we think about the lives of rich people (who think they don’t need God), highly educated persons (who think themselves knowing and understanding things better than God who alone is the beginning of all things) and those who have authority to rule or oppress people (but ignore God who reigns above them), they seem like to have more perfect lives than others in outward appearance. But in fact, their inner lives are full of anxiety, angers, envy, greed, endless sleepless nights and selfishnees. They never trust others, but always are afraid of their own friends, brothers and sisters. For them, their possessions in this temporary world  are their lives. when such possessions are being lost or coming to an end, life is meaningless for them. And they finally give up their lives or commit suicide.
Living life without God is terrible. Wealth without God leads to anxiety and unrest. Power without God destroys normal people.

Those who walk the path of life with God even in the very hard times of their lives can always understand the situation orcircumstances happening in their lives. They can always say, “Thank you God for your love have not forsake me."

Job is the best example for us. When he lost all his possessions including his own sons and daughters, he could easily say, “ Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart. The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; may the name of the LORD be praised.

Our heavenly Father, please forgive us that as your children we always worship idols before You by envying and coveting others’ possessions through our minds. Thank you so much for teaching us that “wealth and power without you is really nothing” through the life of the Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar. Please continue to teach us to be always happy and enjoy You. Teach us to serve you with just what we have and who we are today.

As your servant Moses chose to serve your people in the wilderness rather than to be the king of Egypt, let us chose to serve your people and suffer together with them if it is necessary. Living our life without you is terrible and painful. Wealth without you is full of anxiety and un-peacefulness. But walking our life with you in the shadow of death or wilderness is as peaceful as it is in heaven for us.

Jesus Christ, we praise your holy name for your power and glory always manifested at the weakest point of our lives. Our hope and trust is in You alone. We enjoy our life in You, Jesus

Blessings,
William.
